It's finally over!

I really love Christmas but I am SO glad it's over! We were busy going to and fro and my house is a wreck. We opened presents then left immediately to go to Uncle Mike's. We had such a good time seeing everyone and loving on the new little babies! We came home that afternoon, unloaded the car and Connie came over to watch movies with us. She stayed until Friday afternoon. We actually got 6 movies in this year. We watched Miracle on 34th Street (the old one), It's a Wonderful Life, Home Alone, The Bishops Wife, Christmas Vacation (my favorite) & A Christmas Story. We usually end up falling asleep over at her house and only get in 3. This year we did it at our house....hopefully we can keep doing it that way.

Saturday we got up and I baked 2 cakes and did some laundry. Then we got ready and went out to Grandma Connie's to have Christmas with them and celebrate her birthday. We had a great time visiting with family that came up from Dallas.

Yesterday we got up early and drove to Weatherford, OK to meet my Mom. She took Brayson and Trevor back to Amarillo with her. She dropped Trevor off with his mom and has Brayson for a few days. They are having a blast. She took him to see The Tale of Despereaux today and then he will go visit my Dad's side of the family tonight. My mom just called while I'm typing this and told me that he is riding his skateboard up and down a ramp. I told her if she breaks it, she buys it (refering to Brayson)...hehe!

On our way back from Weatherford, we went and ate at Abuelo's in Bricktown (OKC) to celebrate my birthday. I've never been down there. It's really a nice place to visit. Then we packed it on up and headed for Tulsa. We got home aroun 7 last night. We tried to watch a movie and I ended up falling asleep with Kyleigh on the couch.

Kyleigh was such a good traveler! She slept both ways. I prefer she not sleep so much but what can ya do when a baby hasn't had a good nap in 4 days do to all of the Christmas shinanigans.

Kyleigh had to have her 2mo. shots today. Good thing Daddy was off work so he could take her. Mommy does not do well with that at all! Jason said that she did really well! We are glad that the boys are gone for a few days so we can bond with her a little more. She is really starting to coo so much. This morning she woke up around 5 to eat. Afterwards she just layed there and made the loudest sounds. Although they were cute, I really wanted to catch that last hour of sleep....that didn't happen. As soon as I fell asleep, Jason was poking me because I was snoring so loud. As a result of that, I didn't ever fall back into lala land.

Have a Happy New Year!!!!!

It's been a LONG while

About 2wks ago, right before I came back to work, I had a this long blog typed up and was uploading pictures when I had to run out and take Brayson to school. When I got back Jason was sitting at the computer and I realized that he had closed my window....Oh, I was so ticked but I forgave him :) So now I'm going to post just a few pictures and hopefully catch you up on what's been happening.

Let's start with Thanksgiving. My Mom, Grandma and sisters came and we had a wonderful time. I was so happy that we didn't have to travel with our new bundle of joy!

I started back to work and this is the start of my third week. All is going well! And to tell you the truth, I'm glad to have the break. Most of my maternity leave was spent (obviously) taking care of Kyleigh, working from home, taking care of the house, running Brayson to and from school (at 12:45 and 3:30), picking up Trevor and finally making sure I got a shower everyday. It was nice to be home but I am really glad to be here at the office. I could stand being a housewife if I didn't have to work from home and got myself on an easier schedule. Kyleigh is doing very well at the sitters. They just love her to pieces. I'm so glad to have such wonderful caregivers for my children!

This past Saturday we attended the Wood family Christmas get together. We really had a great time! The kids got to see Santa and little cousin Easton was quite the hoot when it came time to say the prayer before we ate! Brayson and Easton had such a good time playing together. We got to see little Cale who is now 3 months old! Kyleigh finally wore her John Deere boots and they are too cute for words!

Today is our WSA Christmas luncheon. Guess who was supposed to go by and get the ham? Oh yeah, that was me. And guess who forgot to go get it this weekend....oh yeah, that was me too! I feel like such a loser. But we can all laugh at my expense later. It won't be the first or the last time and that is a fact!

So Christmas is this Thursday. I can't believe it is here already. I don't have all of my shopping done yet. I usually have it all done before December gets here but we had our hands full with a new baby and I just didn't plan ahead. So I'll be out with all of the crazies doing last minute shopping. We usually don't wrap until Christmas Eve due to curious little minds so that won't be much of a change. I just hope I'm able to find some decent wrapping paper still!

Kyleigh is going to have her 2mo. checkup tomorrow morning. Oh, how I dread that appt! I can't stand to be in the room when the kids get shots. I tear up and try not to cry but I always do when the nurses leave the room. I just hate them! I wish they could combine them all into one hefty shot instead of poking them 3 or 4 times. She had to go see the doc two weeks ago and weighed 10.2lbs and was 22in. long. I'm interested to see what she weighs now that she's chunked up a bit. I searched and searched for her Christmas gift and finally stumbled upon the cutest thing. I wanted to get her a keepsake since she really won't be able to play with anything just yet. And also something that I could continue to get her year after year. I ended up getting her a 12" Precious Moments Mommy and Me doll. After this year I can start to get her collectible figurines. I'm so glad that I have a little girl now that I can get things like that for.

Brayson is on his Christmas break from school and he is terribly sad about it. He does not like to take a break. He absolutely loves school. He's starting to get used to these little breaks but when they had their first long stint from school (fall break), he would cry and assure me that he WAS having school today. It's so cute to see them so eager about school! He is very excited about Christmas this year. He really wants a grey football....he's cheap! But he does want a couple of other things but they are pretty simple as well.

Trevor is doing just as well. He, of course, is starting to want more expensive things like an iPod, laptop, Xbox 360 and such, all of which he is not getting. I insist that he is only 10 and will not be carrying around $1000 dollars worth of electronics. And he wants a cell phone...I'm not about to give a 10yr old a cell phone. I see all of these kids his age with them and it drives me nuts! I know that this is the "digital age" but that just chaps my hide to see these youngsters with phones. He is getting MonsterJam tickets though and he will be so thrilled! He loves monster trucks and watches the shows about them. I can't wait to see his face!

We will be going over to Uncle Mike's for the Christmas Day gathering. I can't wait to see all of the babies together! Lots of picture taking!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL..............

New pics!

I think I might be enjoying having a girl a little too much....na, I don't think that's possible!

This next one is my favorite!

YES! Kyleigh is HERE!

I can't believe I'm actually a mommy to a beautiful little girl! After a LONG labor, we finally have her here!

She was born October 25th 2008 was 7lbs 6oz and 20in long. She has a massive amount of hair and it is so pretty. All the nurses were commenting on her pretty highlights...lol
I was so sure that I was going to have to be induced but low and behold I actually went into labor on my own just like I wanted to do. I did however get an epidural which I didn't want. My contractions started out btwn 1 & 3 min apart and were extremely hard to get through. When we went in 6hrs later, I was only dilated to a 1 and was 80% efaced. I was sorely disappointed. We decided to stay in the hospital and wait it out. The nurses told me that I shouldn't be having such painful contractions until I was dilated to about a 7. So at 6:30am (12hrs of contractions & finally dilated to a 4) I decided I needed to get the epidural so I could have some energy left to push. At 11:30am we decided it was time to start pushing and at 2:03pm she decided to grace us with her presence!
So here are a few pics:

Baby Update

We still do not have our new addition. I still have not dilated so we are going to be induced next Wed morning if I haven't had her on my own by then. I really want to avoid being induced but I'm accepting that I just might have to be. Not that I really have a choice right? :)

Today is my last day at work for a couple of weeks and then I'll be working from home until the beginning of the year. I just can't imagine coming back after six weeks of being gone. What a disaster that would be. I'm not going to be doing every aspect of my job title, only what I can do at the house. I'm actually looking forward to that. When I had Brayson, I got a little stir-crazy being stuck in the house all day with nothing to do but clean. I just can't handle that.

I'm really hoping that I get to post pics next time I update. In fact, I'm just going to make this my last post until Kyleigh arrives!

So it's Wednesday

And still no baby. Yesterday was my predicted due date. Today I was supposed to see my dr....didn't happen. She had a complicated delivery and I had to be rescheduled for tomorrow. I'm starting to wonder if God kept me out of her office today because he didn't want me to be disappointed or something. I really hope that something is going on down there and that I will be dilated to ANYTHING tomorrow. She can only come out....we know that she can't stay in there forever although I sometimes feel that way. I really don't even feel like I'm 40 wks. Maybe that's because I've been through this before. With Brayson, I felt all of 40 wks starting at 36 wks. Of course I had to have a non-stress test with him every week after 34wks, because he had fetal arythmia, which made me so tired....just sitting there for an hour doing nothing will do that to ya.

Well, I guess that's all for my update this time. Cross your fingers for me!

Nearly there

39 wks, 3 days and counting! It's almost time for Kyleigh to arrive. I'm counting down the days (as if it were possible for me to know)! Brayson said on Monday that he thinks she'll be here in 5 more days. Well, tomorrow would be that 5th day and that would make my tired body and mind SO happy! At least I think it will until I start remembering the sleepless nights and a baby constantly attached to me (for breastfeeding), throw 2 more kids & a husband into the mix....doesn't sound too relaxing to me or any less tiring. BUT having a baby around is always so sweet!

Since I've opted not to be induced unless absolutely necessary, there is no way for me to even start to predict when labor will start. I went to my weekly checkup on Wed and had to see the other doc in the practice since mine is out of town all this week. He gave me some bad news.....I'm thick and closed. Nothing is happening....at least not at that point. He kindly told me not to worry because things could turn around in an instant and I could be in labor at any time.....I wanted to scream! :0) Not really, I'm fine with it because I still have a few small things to get squared away at the office before she gets here.

On to the rest of the family, Brayson has been incredibly funny this week. He really is becoming such a cute little person! He's figured out how to play games by himself on nickjr.com this week and we can hardly get our little addict off the computer for bed at night!

Trevor has been out of school since Wed for fall break and has been driving me nuts! He's here at the office with me all day. I'm very glad that he is having such a stellar year this year at school! Things have really started to turn around for him. He thinks that since he's 10 now, that he is considered a "pre-teen". Kids are so anxious to grow up! I know I was the same way and now I find myself saying the exact same things to him as my mom said to me about rushing to grow up.

Jason is doing great as well. He's still playing softball on Friday nights, watching football all day Sat and Sun, bowling on Mondays and spending time with us in between :0) He's been incredibly helpful lately and I'm so lucky to have him around! Otherwise my kids would get tired of picking stuff up off the floor for me since I can't bend over anymore!

Well, that's it for now. Hopefully the next time I write, I will be posting pics of Kyleigh Rene'!

It's almost done!!!

So we are about 95% complete! We still have to buy a few more pieces of furniture and then it will be finished! Here are the latest pics:

Kim, just to answer your question from the last post....neither one of us are that creative....so we hired our preacher to come draw-in the ribbon and then we painted it in :) We did, however, engineer the polka-dots wall!

The Nursery

We finally started painting the nursery! It was really fun! We are not done yet but getting close. We still have trim work to do and still have to hang things on the wall.

Other than nursery business.....Jason and I went out on our "final" date before Kyleigh arrives. We went to the MOST amazing cajun place called Copelands! WOW, I can't say enough about that place. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was spectacular. It was really the perfect choice for our last night alone. Then we went to Kohl's and I got a night gown (I sound like an old lady) since I don't want to be stuck in that stupid old hospital gown the whole time I'm there....ick!

As for the rest of this week, we are working on getting our house in order not only in preparation for our new addition but for the company we will be having over for the all important Red River Shoot Out game between OU and Texas. Brayson and I will be the only ones out of 15 people that will be sporting burnt orange :)

I went for my 37/38wk check-up yesterday and was disappointed to hear that I have not dilated at all. I'm not really that disappointed, but just ready to get things moving along. It's not even time for her to be here but I'm really tired of waddling :) My doc is out of town all of next week so I'm really not trying to rush anythig. She knows my plan so naturally I'm more comfortable with her than some guy that I don't know. I'm meeting him next week but it still makes me nervous since he doesn't know me at all!

Ok, enough blogging for today.....I've got work to do!

End of Summer

So it is the end of Summer. We just celebrated Labor Day this past Monday and that marks the end of the season for me. I'm glad to see it go!!!! Being pregnant and being in hot weather just don't mix that well.

I've noticed that my due date counter is still at 19wks....silly thing! I'm currently at 33wks and still feeling pretty good. There are days, of course, where I feel like my feet weigh as much as a sack of potatoes, my back hurts too bad to move and I just want to scream at every person who crosses my path :) but all in all, I've had a much more pleasant pregnancy this go round!

Everyone at the house is doing quite well. The boys are still doing alright in school. Trevor hates school, but what's new :) Brayson loves school but he'll start to have a bad attitude about it in a couple of years, I'm sure. He's started to practice writing his name at home and it's amazing that at 4 yrs. old they already have them doing this. I remember, barely, being 4 and learning how to color with my mom....we were not learning how to write, that's for sure! :0) Thank goodness for pre-k!

Week 30 and school!

So we are in the "home stretch"! I can't believe we only have around 10 wks left! That's amazing and it has gone by so fast so far. I bet the last 4 wks will be the longest. I think my baby ticker on my page here has a mind of it's own :) Yesterday it said I was 41 wks and today it says I'm 19wks along. Weird! Anyway, I had my 30wk check-up yesterday and everything is running smoothly. I was disappointed to hear that I have to wait 6 more weeks for an ultrasound but I guess I can wait until then...lol!

Both of the boys started school this week and I think that I was the MOST excited about it! I love them both dearly but I needed them to start school :)

Trev's first couple of days have been really good. We (teachers, Jason and I) decided that we would try letting Trevor stay in a "regular" classroom setting all day this year instead of going to his "special" class for part of the day. We were pretty sure that contributed to some of his behaviors because he would feed off the other children in that room to get attention and contribute to his disorder instead of help him learn how to act in society. Thus far, he's done really good just staying with the regular pace of things. I hope this pattern continues.

Brayson was SO ready to start school! He's very disappointed that he can't ride the bus yet. I thought he was going to have separation issues because we took him to "meet the teacher" day on Tuesday and he wouldn't even look at her; he kept hiding behind Jason and I. When we walked in the door Wednesday, he was ready for me to go! Yesterday I told him I was going to walk him in and he told me that I didn't need to go. So I replied by telling him I wouldn't go into his room, that I would just walk down the hallway and he could go in alone. His rebuttle was that he could walk down the hallway all by himself :) He cracks me up!

I took some pictures and I'll get them posted sometime in the near future.

This weekend I have Jason's cousins wedding to go to and we are going to get Kyleigh's room ready to be painted. We have to take the guest bed down, patch all the holes from the previous owner and tape. Then I'll have my preacher and a couple of other gifted friends come over to help us paint and decorate!!!! I'm so excited about getting my little princess' room ready for her!

Happy 5th Anniversary!

I can't believe it has already been 5 years since we said "I do"! These 5 yrs have gone by faster than I thought they would. Here are a few pics from our "Public exchanging of vows" and reception.
I love you Jason!

Catching up

I know it has been over a month since my last blog but rest assured, my life has been anything but calm!

So let me take a look back at what has been going on. For starters, we've been going thru numerous new medications for Trevor, which have been no help. We actually got a full psychological eval for him last Tues. However, he did not finish the test. They say they got what they needed. I hope so! Trevor left this morning to go to his mom's for almost 2 weeks. I hate to see him go there but we sure do need the vacation right now.

Brayson is growing more and more into a BIG little boy! He's so excited about pre-k starting, he can hardly stand it! We've been coloring our hearts out! We're trying to learn how to cut instead of cut-and-rip the paper :) He also has started singing all of the songs at church albeit not always the right words! When he sings on the way home it is quite comical!

While Trevor is gone, we are going to try to get Kyleigh's room painted and put together. All I have right now is the crib to put in there but that will do for now. I really want to go get the armoire but I'll probably wait until Sept or early Oct.

In the past month, I've been to two baby showers and have received 3 invites to wedding showers and baby showers with more to come! It's going to be a busy few months with all of these showers. Luckily, I'll be buying and sending more than attending. I love going but you can only "Ooo" and "Ahh" so much! I'm looking forward to the few I'll be going to around here and flying back to the one for my best friend back home!

I've been feeling pretty well the past few weeks even months but this morning I started feeling really queezy. I think it's due to the start of my third trimester. I started feeling like this at the beginning of the second as well. That's probably not the real reason but that's what I think it is! I'm going to try and beg my way into getting another ultra sound done on Thurs when I go to the doc but we'll see :)

Yesterday we spent the day out at Lake Skiatook and had a great time! The water was perfect for 102ºF! Just beautiful!

Other than work being busier than it has ever been during the summer, the above has been my life for the past month......

House pics

I finally got around to taking some updated pictures of the newly painted kitchen/dining room, living room and front of the house. We haven't got the bedrooms looking the way we want them yet so those pics will come later....

We removed the ugly shutters off the front of the house and removed the shrubs and honeysuckle. It looks much better but we still have a LONG way to go to get the front looking spiffy!

We also have a new stove and microwave coming so they will match the rest of our appliances.
The kitchen has been painted but we have not put in the wood floors yet so ignore the floor please :)

We are having a....................................

GIRL! We are so excited about having a little girl to dress up and to put bows in her hair! We took the boys with us to watch the sonogram. Brayson was really shy so he didn't see much but Trevor was very interested in everything and how the machine worked :)

I was so excited that when Jason went to Wal-Mart that night, I had him pick up an outfit or something just so I could have something tangible to feel and look at that was girlie! He came back with 2 really cute outfits! Her name will be Kyleigh Rene'!

We also got to go get our new black labrador on Saturday. He is the cutest little puppy! His name is Wrigley....after Wrigley field of course!

May 30th

May 30th is the day set for us to find out if we have a little girl or boy arriving in Oct! I had an ultrasound performed yesterday but it wasn't scheduled and the little booger was flipping around every time we tried to get a peek bettween the legs.

On my way to my appt, the doctors office called to tell me that my doc was delivering a baby and they would probably have to reschedule me.....since I was already half way there, I went up there anyway. I asked if they could go ahead and check my vitals and such.....they did and I got to have the ultrasound. I have really cute pics of the baby sucking its thumb and great profile views. I'll post those soon.

Tonight we are taking the boys to a Drillers game with some friends of ours. We should have a rockin' time! Brayson will undoubtedly be dressed in his baseball uniform! Hopefully I will have charged batteries to put in my camera for lots of picture taking!

Weekend Review

This weekend was even busier than the one before when we were moving! We were crazy and decided to actually have a get together at our house on Sat. One week after moving. Luckily we have the living room and kitchen unpacked and ready for our friends to see. On the other hand, we couldn't show off our bedroom because we shoved every packed box in there to "hide" them :) But we had a great time visiting with everyone and cooking out! I've been really bad at taking pictures lately so there are none of the event so I'll have to remember next time.

Sunday was just as busy. We of course had church and the senior dinner afterwards. And then we decided to take the kids to Owasso Trail Days where they have small carnival with rides. Brayson is just big enough to ride and Trevor is getting tall enough to ride the scary rides :) I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to see Trevor nearly wet his pants or to see Brayson's amazement at all the things there were to experience. Sorry to Kim because I said I would see you at the shower and didn't end up going. But I'm sure I'll see you sometime this summer!

And then after we got home I decided I wanted Jason to go pick up my new patio set so I could "try" to put it together myself....hehe. And "try" is exactly what I did until Jason came out and used his big muscles to finish it!

Also, I had to make salsa and enchiladas for our Cinco de Mayo celebration at work. I was up until almost midnight since I didn't get to start cooking until 9:45ish. But it all turned out well and I so enjoyed cooking in my new kitchen!

This week I get my last project at school, YIPEE! Then on Wednesday I get to go back to the doctor to hear the heartbeat again. I'm hoping for a sporatic ultra sound but I bet that doesn't happen.....However, I should get to find out what the sex is by the end of the month! How exciting is that?!?!?!

Exhausted can't even explain me.....

We are all moved in and are now surrounded by box after box! We started late Thursday and moved every waking moment until early Sunday when we finished. We went back over to the old place last night and cleaned for about an hour and then we were DONE! I'm so exhausted that I can hardly be excited about the new place....our new HOME! I did, however, take 2 baths already in my new bath tub! Being pregnant, having 2 boys, a husband and moving do not mix too well without a few headaches and breakdowns :) But we mustered through and are finished with the move.

Sheryl Crow brings the house down!

I don't think I've ever had more fun in my life than I had last night! My friend Melodie and I went to see Sheryl Crow at the Brady here in Tulsa. I've listened to her since she first came about and I just love her music and what she sings about. It was truely spectacular and I think I was star-struck even from way up in the balcony! She performed almost all of my favorites and a few new ones that make me want to go buy her new cd. It's hard to buy cd's these days with iTunes being the new craze but I'm gonna do it!

Another good aspect was that Melodie and I got to know a little bit more about each other. Jason knows her husband through work and that's how I met her so we really don't know that much about one another. But we had such a great time. We are both preg-o so that gave us a LOT to discuss! And it was so wonderful to get to have girl time! I miss out on that way too often. I'm going to try to fit more of that into my schedule!

AND....We have a close time set today for 4pm!!!!! SOOOOOOOO SO excited! I'm going to go clean it as soon as we get done closing and then Jason says that we are moving boxes as late as we can stay up tonight....yikes! We should be all moved by late Sat but for sure by Sun. Wish us luck!

Not just yet.............

The move hasn't happened just yet. Just waiting on slow procedures and slow people. I've tried really hard to be nice to all the people involved but my "prego hormones" are not going to let me hold back much longer :)

Realistically we should close tomorrow or Wednesday....not much longer but it seems like ages since we first signed the contract.

On to the rest of my family...

I went for my 13wk. check up last Wed. and everything is great. The heartbeat was really strong! I'm starting to feel some little bitty butterflies fluttering down there and it makes me want to feel more! I go back in about 3 weeks for another check up and then a week after that to find out what it is!!!!

Brayson is getting back into baseball mode these days with all of the Cubbie watching in our house :) He wants to wear his baseball uniform 24/7. He even sleeps in it! I think that child is getting taller by the day!

Trevor seems to be doing better at school and starting to hold relationships at the moment. That has been a really tough challenge for him over the past 2 years. I'm glad he is working towards his friendships.

Jason and I are great besides desperately wanting to move!!!! We went and picked out new bedroom furniture this weekend and are now on the hunt for a tv stand to match our new coffee table. We just can't find the right color of dark cherry anywhere...so far. So the search will resume next weekend. I didn't try Hobby Lobby so maybe I will.

Alright, I guess it's back to business

Until next time.................

Closing....finally...hopefully

1/2 of the front....the bushes are mostly gone now
Other 1/2 of the front

So it looks like we are finally going to get to close on our house next Friday if we can get 2 sheets of paper signed by the seller! We have been thru much trial and tribulation to get to this point! Here are a few more pics!! Enjoy!

The pre-party party.......

We aren't having Brayson's b-day party until the first weekend in Apr. since none of the family can get together before then. Instead of just having a special dinner or something, Brayson decided that he wanted to eat a lunchable and get one of the pre-made cakes at Reasors. I let him pick one out and then they added "Happy 4th Birthday Brayson" to it. He also picked out the baseball glove candles to go on top. The package had six in it and when I tried to just put 4 on the cake, someone had a melt-down and the cake ended up with all 6 candles :) Here are a few pics from the event......................
